Community Living Alternatives believes that every individual has the right to a fulfilling life, with the chance to enjoy every opportunity and advantage. With this in mind, Community Living Alternatives’ mission is to facilitate lifestyle choices and provide opportunities to persons with developmental disabilities that are consistent with the daily lives of other citizens in the community; and promote their abilities to be productive, contributing members of society.
We understand that every individual has their own set of circumstances and specific needs. Each plan is designed and tailored to address these unique needs. Our main objective is to foster continued growth and development for the people that we serve in order for each person to maximize their independence and achieve successful community living.
Our vision is that individuals with disabilities will live, learn, play and work in a community based on a foundation of mutual respect and acceptance. CLA will support and assist our clients in the realization of their dreams and aspirations, which will empower them to reach their full potential.
The SIL program provides individuals with developmental disabilities the opportunity to live, work, learn and actually participate in their community. The supported living concept focuses on the individual. The intensity and variety of services and supports will fluctuate over time, allowing for decrease in support as skills are learned and as natural supports become operative.
Assessments using natural situations will facilitate the identification of the individual’s strengths and needs. These assessments will enable determination of services and supports needed. Training in independent living skills will be determined though out the individual plan of care and may include training in such areas as, but not limited to, personal hygiene, money management, travel training, leisure & recreations skills, meal preparation, etc.
